Since HIP's were introduced in summer 2007, hardly any HCR's have been commissioned by vendors. The Government made the HCR optional; the result of that decision is that the market has failed to choose the HCR as an included part of the compulsory HIP.
As hardly any HCRs are being produced, this web site, which was set up specifically to assist Home Inspectors with rating decisions, will remain dormant unless the HCR becomes mandatory.
It's been a slow start to HIP's so far. The feedback from DEA's and HI's is that there are only a few instructions coming through. Nothing like the volume that was expected.

Pack Providers and HI's/DEA's are ready for the 1st August launch of HIPS. The ball starts rolling with 4-bed homes and above, with 3-beds expected to be included very soon after the launch as the required number of DEA's is now in place.
Despite the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' (RICS) attempt to delay or prevent introduction of HIP's, the Commons passed the vote on the 2007 Regulations on Wednesday 16th May leading to the formal introduction of Home Information Packs on the 1st June.
